Kaneka Corporation will introduce “Kaneka Biodegradable Polymer PHBH” (“PHBH”) at the “G20 Innovation Exhibition for Earth, Society and the Future” (the “G20 Innovation Exhibition”) held in Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza from June 14 to 16, 2019.

PHBH is 100% bio-based biodegradable polymer developed by Kaneka. It decomposes into carbon dioxide (CO2) and water in natural environments. Particularly in recent years, marine pollution by micro-plastics has been a global social issue, raising concerns about possible effects on the ecosystems. With “OK Biodegradable MARINE *1” certification that guarantees biodegradability in seawater obtained, Kaneka contributes to the realization of a sustainable, environmental friendly society through the development of biodegradable polymer PHBH.

G20 Innovation Exhibition, hosted by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and Ministry of the Environment, will be held in conjunction with the G20 Ministerial Meeting on Energy Transitions and Global Environment for Sustainable Growth*2. The exhibition will present the state-of-the-art Japanese energy and environmental technologies on the theme of hydrogen energy, countermeasures for marine plastic litter and innovation.
