Kaneka Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Minoru Tanaka) has announced that Tokyu Hotels & Resorts Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Jun Murai; hereinafter "Tokyu Hotels & Resorts") has decided to adopt razors made from KANEKA Biodegradable Polymer Green Planet™ ("Green Planet"). The razors will be introduced at hotels operated by Tokyu Hotels & Resorts starting in January. This makes it Japan’s first hotel chain to use razors made from Green Planet. The Green Planet razors were jointly developed by Kaneka and Kai Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Hiroaki Endo; hereinafter "Kai").

Green Planet is a 100% biomass-derived biodegradable polymer developed by Kaneka based on our desire to provide environmentally friendly solutions that do not depend on petroleum resources. It has excellent biodegradability in a wide range of environments and decomposes easily into CO2 and water, both in soil and seawater, helping to address the environmental pollution problem caused by plastics.

Tokyu Hotels & Resorts is committed to creating sustainable hotels and realizing a recycling-oriented society and has selected the razor as its third Green Planet product for its main guestroom amenities, following a toothbrush and hairbrush.
Kai, which has one of Japan's largest market shares of commercial razors for hotels, has a product development policy that prioritizes sustainability, and has been collaborating with us to develop Green Planet products that contribute to reducing environmental impact.

KANEKA provides value globally as a solution provider based on our mission of "KANEKA thinks ‘Wellness First’." We will continue to strengthen our partnership with Tokyu Hotels & Resorts and Kai to realize a sustainable society.
