Electronic Products
Advanced materials and processing technologies support the electronic industry.
- Apical™ (polyimide film)
This extremely heat-resistant, high-performance film is used as an insulator in the motors of airplanes
and high-speed trains, as well as in flexible printed circuit boards, enabling considerable size reductions in cameras.
- Electrical and electronic materials
- Kaneka Flux™ (bonded magnets)
Molded articles made of bonded magnetic materials are used in the magnetic rollers of laser printers and copiers.
- Hybrid photovoltaic modules (thin-film photovoltaic modules)
We have succeeded in developing a new hybrid photovoltaic module with a conversion efficiency of 12%, which sets the highest standard in the world. We are actively undertaking ground installations, roof installations ranging in scale from houses and other small- and medium-sized buildings to large-scale roof projects, as well as facades and other applications. Another appeal of this product is that its attractive design does not detract from the appearances of building exteriors.
- Kaneka Silicon PV
- Elmech™ (transparent film for optical use)
Kaneka developed this new solvent casting film for optical and electronic use. Its surface is xceptionally fine and has excellent transparency and optical isotropy.
- Electrical and electronic materials
- Graphinity™ (High thermal conductive graphite sheet)
Based on our macromolecular design and high-temperature sintering technologies, we developed graphite sheets that have high resistance to heat and high levels of crystallization. They have a thermal conductivity that is three times that of copper and a high degree of flexibility. This material is providing its powerful heat dispersion and diffusion abilities in various applications including mobile electronic devices.

- See-through photovoltaic modules
A moderate filtering effect reduces the brightness of outside light. The permeation of visible light is about 9.2% even for layered glass. By using this as a roof material, for example, a suitable amount of illumination can be achieved, serving to reduce lighting use in the daytime. The realization of these see-through photovoltaic modules is the result of Kaneka's expertise.
- Solar Circuit™
(wooden house construction system)
This wooden house construction system incorporates Kaneka's energy conservation technology and offers a natural and healthy living environment for all seasons in Japan.
