Kaneka Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Mamoru Kadokura) is revising the sales price of all the varieties of the extruded polystyrene foam products (product name: Kanelite Foam). The price will be increased by 20% over existing prices for shipping on or after April 1.

Extruded polystyrene foam is widely used as heat insulating materials for residential and building use.

The price of polystyrene resin, which is the key raw material of extruded polystyrene foam, has soared due to increasing crude oil prices. In addition, logistics cost has increased against a backdrop of increasing utility costs, shortage of manpower in transport companies and increase in traffic volume, squeezing corporate earnings.

Kaneka determined that we cannot deal with the issue by self-efforts and cannot avoid the price pass-through to customers for future stable supply although we have been striving to improve business income by reducing costs.
