Kaneka Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Minoru Tanaka) will revise the sales price of modified silicone polymer (product names: Kaneka MS PolymerTM and SilylTM) in response to rising raw material prices. For shipments from July 1, the current price will be raised by at least 50 JPY per kilogram.

Kaneka revised its prices in April of this year, but subsequently, the prices of domestic naphtha increased and looks to exceed 50,000 JPY/kl in the future. As a result, prices for PPG (polypropylene glycol) and PO (propylene oxide), which are main raw materials, have risen significantly due to a combination of tight supply.

Kaneka endeavored to improve business revenue through initiatives such as constricting costs.  However, having reached the limits of what the company can do, Kaneka has determined that these price revisions are unavoidable.
