Kaneka Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Minoru Tanaka) completed a new plant for the Group subsidiary, Kaneka Medical Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Binh Duong, Vietnam; President: Koki Takahashi) that will triple the production capacity of medical catheters in August.

Kaneka manufactures medical catheters in Japan and Vietnam, including endovascular treatment catheters for cardiovascular, peripheral vascular and neurovascular disease, as well as gastroenterology intervention for the treatment of gastrointestinal cancer* and electrode catheters for irregular pulse tests. We have invested approximately 1 billion yen to meet the robust demand that is expanding globally, approximately tripling our production capacity from the previous level.

Populations are aging, especially in developed countries, and the number of patients suffering from cardiac disease, cerebral disorders, and cancer is rising. The scale of the market for surgery using medical catheters is expanding globally, as it is a less invasive treatment for patients. Kaneka Medical Vietnam will celebrate the 15th anniversary of its operations this year and will further strengthen its function as a core plant in our catheter manufacturing business.

Kaneka will further expand its business in the fields of medical devices and pharmaceuticals and contribute to improving patients' Quality of Life and extending healthy lifespans.
