Kaneka Signs Business Transfer Agreement for Zeon Corporation’s Medical Device Business

Kaneka Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Kazuhiko Fujii) has reached an agreement with Zeon Corporation (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Tetsuya Toyoshima) regarding the transfer of its medical device businesses in the gastrointestinal and cardiovascular fields operated by its group companies, Zeon Medical Inc. and River Xemex Co., Ltd. to Kaneka Group. The business transfer agreement was signed on November 12. November 12, 2025
Zeon Medical is a manufacturer with a strong track record and advanced technological capabilities in the gastrointestinal and cardiovascular fields, offering a diverse lineup of products - particularly in the gastrointestinal field. Through this acquisition, Kaneka is expected to become the third-largest company (*1) in the domestic gastrointestinal market, specifically in endoscopic treatment devices.
Kaneka is expanding its business in a wide range of fields, which include devices for the treatment of cardiac, peripheral vascular, and cerebrovascular diseases, as well as medical devices used in the treatment of gastrointestinal tract diseases. By inheriting the technologies and expertise developed by Zeon Medical and integrating them with Kaneka’s existing strengths, we aim to enhance our product portfolio, create new value, and contribute to improving patient QOL (Quality Of Life).
