Kaneka Issues Social Bond

KANEKA CORPORATION
August 17, 2026
Kaneka Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Kazuhiko Fujii) will issue its 10th unsecured straight bond, "Social Bond," to raise funds related to the construction of a new plant for medical catheters (*1) at its Tomatoh Manufacturing Site in Hokkaido. The offering amount is 10 billion yen and the issuance term is 5 years, with issuance scheduled for September 2026.

In our Medical business, we provide various innovations through medical devices including endovascular catheters and blood purification devices to solve social issues related to health.
This social bond is planned to be used for capital-investment expenditures at the new catheter plant currently under construction at the Company's Tomatoh Manufacturing Site. This investment will approximately double the current catheter production capacity.

Against the backdrop of a worldwide increase in the number of patients with the three major diseases (heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, and cancer) driven by the progression of population aging, mainly in developed countries, demand is growing for surgeries using medical catheters, which impose less burden on patients. By securing this supply base through the capacity expansion, we will meet the growing demand.

Based on our mission of KANEKA thinks “Wellness First”, we will realize a world where advanced medical care is accessible to everyone and where science contributes to the innovation of the global environment and our daily lives. From Tomakomai, "Kaneka, the Dream Factory" will make this vision a reality.
